I'm particularly excited that our shop is featured on this site!! Our cute and trendy little waldorf inspired plush crocheted mushrooms are featured under the "Play"category.

AND under the "Toddler" category, our play pb&j sandwich is featured.

With Christmas just around the corner, we are gearing up for the holiday rush. Don't forget to check back at our online store and see what's new. We were going to do a Halloween giveaway, however time got away from me with getting the kids costumes in order and making candy corn plushies. Before I knew it, Halloween was here! So...I promise to have a give away soon. I'm thinking maybe some Santa cookies or carrots for the reindeer?? What do you think? Leave me a comment...and let me know what you would like to see in our shop for Chirstmas...and as a giveaway!

Elvis Sighting

Nov 1, 2009

For those of you who haven't heard, there was an Elvis sighting over the weekend in Mt. P. He was looking pretty youthful and handsome as ever! He stopped for a couple photos and didn't seem to mind the paparazzi.

Ok...so it wasn't really an Elvis sighting, but you have to admit that he does make a pretty awesome Elvis. He did beam with pride as he walked along and people pointed and said, "Look...It's Elvis!"

He did stop and had some fun coloring, jumping in the jump castle and taking a ride on the horse drawn hayride.

Elvis did enter into a photo costume contest with Y102.5. Voting will open on Monday, November 2nd. All votes are greatly appreciated!

A Milestone...

Oct 27, 2009

There is no doubt that our little Owen is on the move. If he's awake, he's moving. He truly is all over the place! Imagine my surprise this past weekend when Owen decided to try to do this...

Of course, I automatically think, there is no way he is going to be able to get one of those chunky turkey legs up on the sofa to pull himself up.

Then I thought that maybe, just maybe, if I put peanuts (his favorite stuffed elephant) AND the ceiling fan remote (which he normally does NOT get to play with) up on the sofa, he might just climb up there. Well what do you know?

He got Peanuts!!!

And YEAH!!! He's King of the Remote too! Our little boy is growing up so fast. Before we knew it, Owen was turning over, crawling, pulling up, walking, running...and now he's climbing. We truly cherish each and everyone of these little milestones. And as Hunter would say, things were a little boring before Owen came along!

"All your sons will be taught by the Lord, and great will be your children's peace." Isaiah 54:13

If you haven't heard, Walt Disney Studios has been working on the railroads and stopping at stations all across the United States where folks can get a behind the scene look at the making of "A Christmas Carol" due out in theaters on Nov. 6th.

Well what do you know? They stopped in for some southern hospitality in Charleston, SC.

The train consist of several rail cars where you can get an inside look at the makings of this amazing 3D motion event! When you are done touring the rail cars, you have the opportunity to check out a sneak peek of select scenes from the movie in 3D.

Here are some photos from inside the rail cars...

The First of the First...

Sep 26, 2009

This morning as I drove to work, I starting thinking, maybe I should start a blog. You know, post family updates, upload some pics of my handsome boys, spread the word about our cute and trendy little online store and maybe share some favorite recipes.

And then I got to thinking, what in the world will I write about? I mean, it's pretty easy to post a bullet statement on Facebook, upload a mobile photo or tweet something in 140 characters or less, but a whole blog? Will I be able to capture an audience and keep them interested to read the entire post? Why, of course I can (or at least I hope so)!

Before I was introduced to Etsy I don't think I had ever read a blog. And then I seen tons and tons of blogs about Etsy shops, handmade enthusiasts, parenting, babies, prayer request, diapers, organics...you name it, someone has blogged about it! So today, I've decided to convert from a blog reader, to a blogger. The first blog I ever read was after reading an article in The Storque on Etsy. Tears strolled down my face and my heart ached. How could life be so cruel? Why do bad things happen to good people? The more I read, the more I was amazed and inspired by the faith this family has and how they have completely leaned on the Lord to carry them through this grim dark chapter of their lives.

As I ponder over the grim dark chapters of my own life, I realize that my chapters and trials are not so grim. I also realize that not trusting in the Lord makes them seem more grim. I start to feel that I'm carrying the whole world on my shoulders. It makes me think of an all too familar song...

I was sure by now,
God, that You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen and it's still raining.
As the thunder rolls I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
who gives and takes away.

All too often, tragedies and circumstances in our lives create barriers between us and our personal relationship with God. Instead of clinging closer to Him, we tend to push Him away. We start to question God. Is He listening? Why isn't He answering? Why is He letting this happen? God has a plan. And no matter how hard we try to convince God that the little plan we have in our head is great and best for us, His plan is ultimately the best. It is the grandest of them all. The chorus of this song is a vivid reminder of exactly what we should do during these troublesome times:
And I'll praise you in this storm and I will lift my hands
For You are who You are no matter where I am
And every tear I've cried You hold in your hand
You never left my side and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
